SUCCESSFUL MISSIONS AT THE 2009 MARS ROVER CELEBRATION
The 2009 Mars Rover Celebration had 170 students competing in elementary and middle-school divisions, with 54 rovers battling it out in free form, solar, and radio-controlled categories. Each team could spend no more than $25 on supplies to build its rover, and each school’s teacher spent several weeks teaching a curriculum on Mars and space exploration.
